Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross- world premiere of the new crossover company Mitsubishi Motors took place in March 2017 at the Geneva Motor Show. This is a global model designed for countries in Asia, Europe, North America and other regions. The five-door inherited its name from the Eclipse coupe ("eclipse ”), which has been sold in the US since 1989, and Cross is short for crossover.

In the “diamond” lineup, the novelty is squeezed between the Mitsubishi ASX and Mitsubishi Outlander, on the shortened and lightweight platform of which the Eclipse Cross is built. With an overall length of 4,405 mm, the Mitsubishi crossover is 28 mm longer Nissan Qashqai and 42 mm superior Seat Ateca. The wheelbase of the Eclipse is also larger than its main competitors - 2670 mm. There are McPherson-type struts in front, a multi-link in the back, and the declared ground clearance of the car in the European specification is 183 mm.

The Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross engine range for Europe consists of a 1.5-liter gasoline turbo engine with direct injection (163 hp, 250 Nm) and a 2.2-liter turbodiesel (150 hp, 400 Nm). The petrol power unit can be paired with a 6-speed “mechanics”, available only for the front-wheel drive version, as well as with a variator with eight fixed steps and a sport mode. Moreover, the two-pedal version is equipped with an all-wheel drive system with a multi-plate clutch in the rear wheel drive and an electronically controlled front differential lock. The diesel engine on the "Eclipse" is combined with an 8-speed "automatic".

In Ukraine, the Eclipse Cross is available with a 1.5-liter petrol turbo engine with 150 hp (maximum torque 250 Nm). It is combined with both “mechanics” and with a variator. Drive forward or full.

The list of available equipment Eclipse Cross includes a media system with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto interfaces. The central display supports touch control, as well as control using the touchpad on the central tunnel. In addition, the crossover is optionally equipped with a projection display above the dashboard. Such a device displays the speed and warnings of electronic security systems. Top-of-the-line equipment can offer LED headlights, dual-zone climate control, a keyless entry system, an engine start button, all-round cameras, a panoramic roof and a Rockford Fosgate audio system.

The rear seats of the crossover move longitudinally in the range of 200 mm, and the backrests have 9 fixed positions. Due to such transformations, the trunk volume of the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross varies from 341 liters to 448 liters.

Serial production of Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross has been established at the Okazaki plant in Japan. The first batch of vehicles for continental Europe was shipped on October 3, 2017. Sales of Eclipse Cross in Ukraine started in April 2018.
