Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X - sales of the current generation of the cult model in Japan began in 2007, but Evo reached the European market only in 2008. For the Japanese, the company offers the same power plant as for Europeans - a turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine with 295 hp. True, the peak torque for the versions for Japan is 422 Nm versus 366 Nm for the modifications for Europe.
The engine can be paired with both a five-speed “mechanics” and a preselective “robot” with a dual clutch for six Twin Clutch SST gears. The gearshift speed of the robotic box is only 0.2 seconds. Formally, in terms of acceleration time, the robotic version of the Evo is inferior to versions with a manual transmission - 6.3 versus 5.4 seconds.
Nevertheless, in versions with a “robot”, the Launch Control system is available to the driver, which electronically optimizes the acceleration dynamics and allows almost any driver to show the acceleration time stated in the passport.
The automated box has several modes: Normal, Sport and Super Sport. Manual shifting using the steering wheel paddles can only be carried out in "normal" mode.
The “chips” of the car are the Super All Wheel Control all-wheel drive system with a central differential and a front self-block, as well as the Super Active Yaw Control thrust vectoring system.
In addition, from the usual Lancer the sports modification Evolution X is distinguished by a more rigid body, the roof, front fenders and deformable cross bars under the bumpers of which are made of aluminum. Even the external "decor", like the "gills" on the front fenders, is not fake, but improves the aerodynamics of the sedan and the cooling of its power units and assemblies.
